Buying REACH-Compliant: A Guide to the Chemical Catalog
REACH governs the European chemical trade
Anyone buying or selling chemicals in the EU must comply with REACH. For buyers this means: every substance in a chemical catalog needs a valid registration number, a current safety data sheet and clear exposure scenarios.
Three checks before every order
First: verify the supplier's REACH registration number and tonnage band. Second: check the SDS date — sheets older than three years are a warning sign. Third: for imports from outside the EU, clarify the Only Representative arrangement.
Digital catalogs make compliance visible
A well-maintained chemical product catalog shows registration status and documents at product level. Registered buyers can request SDS and specifications directly from chemical suppliers on the platform.
